Scout Network Home Page

The Scout Network consists of young adults between the age of 18 and 25 years who are responsible for organising and running their own programmes. It was created as part of the 6 to 25 year Programme launched in Spring 2002.

Members of the Scout Network are given opportunities to do the type of activities only dreamed about in the other Sections. As with the Explorer Units, a local Scout Network may focus on just one aspect of the Scouting Programme, however members can also take part in the activities organised by other Networks in the County or Area.

Although members of the Scout Network can still gain the Chief Scout's Platinum and Diamond Award, and the Queen's Scout Award, they are also encouraged to complete one of the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards. Copies of all the badges and Awards that a member of the Scout Network can earn are shown on our Network Badges and Awards page.

If you want any more information about the Scout Network, then have a look at the Scout Network pages on ScoutBase, the Scout Association's official web site.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Scout Network or a leader in this new section then look at our County web site (see the links page for details) for more information.

The Network Unit covering Oldham, Chadderton, Crompton and Royton Districts is called the Griffon Network.
