Hello, I am the Beaver Mascot. I think beavers are fun, and I am here
to tell you all about them. Remember to look out for me having fun on
other Beaver pages.
Both boys and girls aged between 6 and 8 years can join the Beavers,
although not all Beaver Colonies currently accept girls.
Check here to find which Groups in Oldham
have a Beaver Colony and whether they accept girls or not.
Beavers play games, make things and create masterpieces with handicrafts,
go on visits to nature reserves, fire stations, theme parks, listen
to stories, make new friends, sing and make musical instruments.
There are a number of badges a Beaver Scout can wear. A membership badge,
3 Challenge Badges, the Chief Scouts Bronze Award, a Joining In Badge
and choose your favourites from 5 Activity Badges.
In addition any member of the Scout Group can gain one of the staged
badges or Group Awards. These cover Swimming, IT, Musician, Nights Away,
Environment, Faith, and International Friendship.
All the badges and Awards can be seen on our Beaver
Badges page.
You can find out what you have to do to earn these badges by looking
at the Beaver pages on Scoutbase.
